Soltrack was involved with the sales of Matrix recovery tracking systems including real time self managed products. Our company was trying to develop a new product for the African market with large sums of money allocated for development and manufacture. Over a period of time we had become very successful at selling Matrix products and in fact had introduced new local lines, such as Geotab, Netstar and Orchid to name a few. We realised that producing our own product would mean that there would just be another new product onto an already oversupplied and under serviced market. Our direction changed at the end of the year 2000 when a decision was made to halt development and rather concentrate on servicing the industry with products that were already available. All products, manufacturers and distributors were investigated and our company was placed in a unique position to rather listen to the potential client and offer without bias what we believed from prior experience to be the best product for their unique operation. We have in the past at times supplied a client up to 3 different products from 3 different suppliers to suit their requirements. From the above we also found that many companies were not structured to manage these systems or even manage their own vehicles, which led us to create our own in house bureau where we communicate remotely through the GSM network directly with the vehicles producing reports on violations, utilization and costings to the relevant personnel with consistent follow ups. The bureau has become a resounding success. The success of the bureau has led the company on a path to introduce this logical method of managing vehicles with already existing products. Soltrack already has mutual cooperation with various financial institutions. |
